About Me

Hi, I’m Cameo Ray Eelman, a freelance graphic designer based out of the greater Orlando area. In addition to working as a freelancer, I’ve also worked as a staff designer for marketing firms as well as one of the fastest growing universities. I’ve worked with a wide range of clients from “Mom and Pop” restaurants to Papa John’s® and Subway® franchisees, from one-man landscaping services to the Florida Department of Transportation. I’ve done work for clients in the private and public sector, as well as non-profits. I specialize in delivering quality, effective design solutions for small to medium businesses and organizations.

Freelance Graphic Designer

  • Developed from start to finish logos, identity packages and event promotional materials including, theme graphics, postcards, mailers, flyers, brochures, booklets, programs, brochures, decals, DVD face art, presentations graphics, banners, banner stands, web art, web ads and print ads.
  • Created design pieces for clients, including Kentucky Baptist Convention, Couch Tomato Cafe, Palm Springs Drive Baptist Church, First Baptist Sweetwater, Mobile Express, A+ Roofing, All Clear Window Cleaning & Pressure Washing, and ProMow.

Senior Graphic Designer

Global-5 Communications, Inc.   |   Longwood, Florida   |   2008 – 2011

  • Created design pieces for clients, including Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) 511 Traveler Information System; FDOT District Five’s Trans4mation I-4 Expansion Project; FDOT District One’s iROX I-75 Road Expansion Project; Lake County, Florida; Intelligent Transportation Society of Florida; and the High Speed Rail News Channel.
  • Designed print and electronic media including digital, vinyl and poster billboards, mall and airport backlit display advertisements, interior and exterior bus placards, magazine advertisements, display boards, banners, flyers, handouts, logos, promotional items, stationery, presentations, print and electronic newsletters, emails and websites.
  • Collaborated on projects with the company president, vice-president, program managers, creative director and production artist.
  • Reviewed projects for quality assurance and prepared files for printing and archiving.
  • Researched new methods, techniques and software. Expanded and maintained resource filing structure.
  • Bid out projects to vendors, coordinated preparation and submission of artwork, approved press proofs and confirmed delivery of product.

Supervisor of Media Design

Liberty University, LU Online Marketing   |   Lynchburg, Virginia   |   2005 – 2007

  • Designed and/or directed design of print and electronic materials including brochures, flyers, booklets, direct mail, posters, displays, announcements, emails, webpages, logos, and both online and print advertisements appearing in numerous national publications and websites such as INC Magazine, Fortune, Military Times, Stars & Stripes, and FoxNews.com.
  • Oversaw the creation and maintenance of all content on the department’s 200+ page section of the university’s website, which received an average of 8,000–10,000 hits per day.
  • Reviewed, adjusted and prioritized requests for projects. Assigned and scheduled aspects of projects to appropriate marketing personnel.
  • Established and maintained graphic files naming, filing and storage structure.
  • Aided in the development of the university’s first brand identity guide.
  • Hired and trained all marketing personnel. Directed, reviewed and approved the work produced by all marketing personnel, including both design and copy.
  • Collaborated on projects with the executive administration, department heads, support offices, and internal department directors.
  • Developed a project status tracking system, from job request submission to final
    product/execution. Implemented an ad efficiency tracking system, developed in cooperation with the department’s Data Management Director.
  • Planned and implemented promotions and email marketing campaigns. Designed and executed surveys, analyzed and distributed results, suggested changes based on those results.
  • Researched new methods, techniques, software and equipment. Recommended and arranged purchases and additional training accordingly.
  • Established relationships with external vendors. Bid out projects to vendors, selected vendor, placed requisitions, coordinated submission of artwork, approved press proofs and confirmed delivery of product. Priced advertisements, arranged contracts, directed ad design, delivered ad content, and ensured proper placement of ads.

  • Created design pieces for clients, including franchisees of Papa John’s®, Pizza Hut®, Domino’s Pizza® and Subway®. Ensured designs were in accordance with clients’ brand guidelines.
